The New Jersey Constitution and
implementing legislation guarantees each child in the public schools
equal educational opportunity regardless of race, color, sex, creed,

Board of Education have developed regulations outlined in New Jersey
Administrative Code 6:4-1.1 etc. sec. which specifically implement

Section 504
Section 504 is the section of the
Rehabilitation Act of 1973, which applies to students with disabilities.
Basically it is a civil rights act which protects the civil and
constitutional rights of students with disabilities. Section 504
prohibits school districts which receive federal funds from
discriminating against otherwise qualified students solely on the basis
of handicap. Section 504 is enforced by the US Department of Education,
Office of Civil Rights (OCR). Should you have any question, please do
